Patient Empowerment

Have you ever visited the doctor to address a specific health issue or in preparation for a medical procedure, only to realize, upon returning home, that several of your questions remained unanswered (or perhaps you didn't even ask them?) This is a very common occurence. After all, it can be overwhelming and even scary when you are dealing with issues having to do with your own health or the health of a loved one.  Even the most organized, focused of minds can get pretty jumbled up just trying to make sense of what the doctor is saying! I know this to be true from personal experience.

To alleviate some of the pressure from an already-stressful situation, I accompany my client to doctor's appointments and/or hospital visits and assist by taking detailed notes and asking appropriate questions, including those specifically requested by the client prior to the appointment.  Afterwards I will fully research the following (if applicable):  the meaning of the doctor's diagnosis and additional questions that may need to be asked, side effects and interactions of any medications prescribed, the possible need for additional opinions, nutritional considerations, necessary dietary, exercise and lifestyle modifications, relaxation techniques, etc. In short, my role is to empower my client to be his/her own health advocate.   Fee varies.

Comprehensive Dietary Analysis: Client will complete a questionnaire detailing typical dietary habits, food allergies, water intake, cravings, etc.

Hair Tissue Mineral Analysis:  A laboratory test measuring the mineral content of a hair sample in order to determine, and assist in balancing, a client's biochemical makeup. This analysis includes a complete and comprehensive computerized evaluation of significant mineral levels and ratios and the impact on body chemistry, a detailed explanation of metabolic type, and dietary and supplemental nutrient recommendations. For further information, please refer to the FAQs listed on the laboratory website: http://www.traceelements.com/EducationalResources/FAQ.aspx

Individualized Health Information Report & Plan: includes detailed recommendations for diet, nutrient supplementation, exercise, relaxation and lifestyle.

Unlimited Email/Text Support: Text or email 24/7 for answers to your nutrition questions

Grocery Store Field Trip: This includes a visit to your favorite grocery store to fulfill your list for the week.  We will review what to look for on food labels and how to avoid being fooled by clever marketing, along with staying within your budget while making healthy choices.  This is a fun and informative segment!

What's in Your Pantry? 60-90 minute assessment of the contents of your pantry and refrigerator.  We will study food labels and discuss healthier options where necessary, based on your specific health goals.

Medication-Induced Nutrient Deficiency Review: Often times commonly prescribed medications deplete the body of certain nutrients as a result of their intended actions, leading to an internal biochemical imbalance and therefore "side effects". The goal of this portion of a program is to rebalance biochemistry by replenishing lost nutrients.  A report detailing information on the client's current medications will be provided, including vitamin/herb interactions and nutrient-depleting tendencies of those medications. Suggestions for nutrient supplementation will be provided.
. . . an Individualized Wellness Program leaves no stone unturned. Not only will you gather a better understanding of what makes your body function at its best, but you'll also gain access to an abundance of resources to help you on your journey toward optimal health.
