I've been passionate about health and nutrition since my early teens - an interest that was an offshoot of my enthusiasm for playing tennis. With the intention of becoming a better athlete, I attended seminars and classes on sports nutrition, sports medicine, and sports psychology, as well as studying the principles of coaching and motivation.
As a student-athlete at Old Dominion University, I received my Bachelor's degree in Psychology and followed up with a Master's Degree in Counseling. Following graduation, I had the privilege of serving as Assistant Coach of the ODU Women's NCAA Division I tennis team. This track suited me well and led me through to the next chapter in my life - a 10-year stint in business, specifically in the field of Human Resources.
Shortly thereafter, I became a mom, and that's when my "old" interests began to pop back up. The health of my family soared to the top of my priority list and I began re-educating myself on the subjects of nutrition and wellness, this time investing my energy in the study of holistic solutions.
It soon became apparent that I had found my calling. Empowering people to heal their body and mind using the tools provided by nature brings me great satisfaction and joy, so I decided to make it official. I enrolled in and completed the accredited Holistic Health Practitioner Program at the Global College of Natural Medicine to become certified in my field. I then followed up with an additional certification specifically in Nutritional Consulting (C.N.C.) through the highly esteemed American Association of Nutritional Consultants. So, here I am!
